Rasmus Nordholt-Frieling deals with sounds and performing arts – both practically and theoretically. As a sound designer, producer and concept developer, he works on his own projects and collaborates with numerous artists from the field of performative arts. In the recent past, he has created works in cooperation with Burg Hülshoff – Center for Literature, Enoch Cheng, Anja Plonka, tehran re:public, Miriam Michel, dorisdean and kainkollektiv. Works with his participation have been invited to the Theatertreffen Berlin, Ruhrtriennale, Favoriten Festival, Kampnagel Hamburg, Ringlokschuppen Ruhr, Hong Kong City Hall, Goethe Institute Yaoundé and Theater Dortmund, among others.
In 2021 Nordholt-Frieling published his doctoral thesis Musikalische Relationen [Musical Relations], in which he develops the possibilities of a musical thinking inspired by sound on the basis of Paul Klee's theory of design and Deleuze's and Guattari's philosophy, among others. Nordholt-Frieling also gives seminars, lectures and publishes articles.
